(ANSA) - TRIESTE, JAN 24 - "In Albania, about half of all the
foreign companies are Italian, and our trade is worth 20% of
Albania's GDP, 3.6 bn euros: we are present in all sectors. The
most promising ones are energy, infrastructure, connectivity,
and new technologies." Italian ambassador to Tirana, Fabrizio
Bucci, told ANSA on the sidelines of the ongoing Balkans
Conference in Trieste.
"Albania is a gateway to all the Balkans," and its accession to
the EU has a fundamental value: "We no longer speak of 'whether'
the country will join the EU, but of 'when,'" he added. (ANSA).
