(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 10 - Despite the opposition of many
parents, seven days after the shooting that took place at
Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in Belgrade, Serbia,
students are returning to the school today. Instead of regular
classes, students will participate in discussions and receive
assistance as needed. In Serbia, a national outpouring of grief
and shock followed the mass shooting that killed a school guard
and eight students. The suspect, a 13-year-old school student,
was arrested and is being investigated. Last week, a 21-year-old
man also shot and killed eight more people near Mladenovac in a
separate incident. The Ribnikar school has implemented a support
system for students and staff, including psychologists and
social workers, to help them cope with the trauma, local media
reported. (ANSA).
