In Belgrade, protests are
spreading and intensifying against Pristina's decision to ban
cash payment transactions in dinars beginning February 1st,
which can only be made in euros, the currency that is
traditionally in circulation in Kosovo. This is a measure that,
according to Belgrade, could have devastating social
consequences, potentially leaving the Serbian population in
Kosovo without income, as they continue to use the Serbian dinar
for all payments and operations of various kinds.
