The Greek Orthodox Church has
expressed strong opposition to the government's decision to
legalise same-sex marriage, describing it as "demonic." Clerics
have called for the expulsion of "immoral lawmakers" from the
church, and ecclesiastical authorities on Corfu have announced
that two local MPs will be barred from participating in any
religious rites, according to The Guardian. An open letter from
Bishop Ambrosios called for Mitsotakis and MPs who backed the
legislation to be excommunicate, the daily stated.
