(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 10 - Germany's inflation rate, as
measured by the year-on-year change in the consumer price index
(CPI), was +7.2% in April 2023, according to the German
statistical office Destatis. The inflation rate in March 2023
was +7.4%. "Inflation has thus slowed for the second month in a
row, but it remains high," says Ruth Brand, President of the
Federal Statistical Office. "Food prices continued to be the
biggest driver of inflation in April, according to the basket of
goods and services surveyed," Brand says. According to Destatis,
consumer prices climbed 0.4% in April 2023 compared to March
2023. (ANSA).
