Terrorism alert in Austria, where
police have increased surveillance of churches and Christmas
markets and where a number of people have been arrested in
Vienna. The Austrian newspaper Der Standard writes this. The
security measures were triggered after a report that terrorist
groups across Europe launched terror attacks by Islamic cells on
Christmas and even New Year's Eve against Christian symbols and
events. Yesterday there were some arrests in Germany,
particularly in Cologne. Today in Vienna, although Austrian
police did not specify how many.
