Jannik Sinner joined fellow Italian
Matteo Berrettini in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open
by beating local favourite Alex De Minaur 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 on
Monday.
It is the first time that Italy has had two representatives in
the last eight of the men's singles at the tournament.
Berrettini beat Spain's Pablo Carreño Busta in the fourth round
and faces Gaël Monfils in the quarters.
Sinner, 20, will take on the winner of the match between
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Taylor Fritz.
