Italy's best seaside resorts are in
Sardinia, Tuscany and Puglia, according to this year's Blue
Sails awards from Legambiente and Touring Club Italiano.
Sardinia is top of the rankings of 45 beach resorts with six
sites with the maximum five sail score.
Tuscany and Puglia have three each, followed by Campania and
Sicily with two.
Trentino-Alto Adige gets many sails for its lakes but the best
lakeside resorts are in neighbouring Veneto, the report said.
The top resorts represent administrative best practices and show
that a new way of tourism is possible, banking on the
environment and inclusivity, said the report.
