Italian journalist and centre-right
politician Giuliano Ferrara suffered a heart attack at his home
in the Maremma area in southern Tuscany late Thursday night and
has been hospitalised in serious condition at Grosseto's
Misericordia Hospital, sources said Friday.
The 70-year-old former Communist and Socialist and current
supporter of ex-premier and media mogul Silvio Berlusconi's
centre-right Forza Italia party was rushed to hospital from his
home at Scansano at around 11 o'clock.
TV personality Ferrara, who founded centrist daily Il Foglio in
1996, underwent angioplasty to insert stents into blocked
arteries.
