Another relative of Saman Abbas, an 18-year-old woman thought to have been murdered in Italy last year by her Pakistani family for refusing an arranged marriage, has been detained with the arrest in Barcelona of her cousin, Nomanhulaq Nonamhulaq, sources said Monday.
Another cousin, Ikram Ijaz, and the woman's uncle, Danish Hasnain, were arrested in France and have been extradited to Italy.
Her parents left Italy after she went missing on April 30, 2021 in Novellara, near Reggio Emilia, and they are fugitives of Italian justice in Pakistan.
Nonamhulaq, 35, was arrested by Spanish police thanks to information provided by Reggio Emilia Carabinieri police and obtained with the help of wiretaps.
The body of Saman Abbas has not been found.
