Newly designated Confindustria
president Emanuele Orsini said Thursday his version of the
Italian industrial employers federation would be "central, full
of prospects, full of proposals".
"It will be a Confindustria that will want to bring things
together, in synthesis.
"It will have to be full of proposals in Italy and in Europe.
"It will aim to be able to give the government and Europe
solutions for the growth of our businesses.
Orsini said that "after a hard-fought campaign, a very
complicated campaign (for his designation), today we have
succeeded in bringing Confindustria back together as is right
and good because it must look forward, to the reality of Italian
industry".
Congratulations for Orsini flowed in from the political and
business worlds.
Premier Giorgia Meloni said "congratulations and best wishes for
your work to Emanuele Orsini, designated president of
Confindustria today.
"For this government, the State must be a natural ally of
businesses and business people, that is of those who create jobs
and produce wealth.
"As always we shall jot fail to provide our availability and
dialogue.
"I thank outgoing president Carlo Bonomi for the work he has
done and for the dialogue we have had in these years," Meloni
concluded.
Confindustria's Emilia-Romagna branch said they were "happy and
proud at Orsini being tapped as president" while East Veneto's
branch of the industrial employers' federation said "Orsini must
bring unity and cohesion to our ranks, and he is the right man
to do so".
