Premier Giorgia Meloni said Wednesday
she had not agreed with French President Emmanuel's Macron
recent statement that NATO troops might eventually be needed in
Ukraine, and had told him so.
"I didn't agree with Macron's words, and I told him. You have to
be careful about the tone you use. But that doesn't mean not
doing what is right. And you have to be careful about how
certain things are 'sold', in quote marks," she said in an
interview going out Wednesday night on Rete4.
"I've come from an EU summit where we discussed civil protection
and I find myself on various dailies (saying) that we are
preparing Europe for war, because there was a part that said we
must cooperate on the response to the crisis, but we were
talking about civil protection"
