(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 9 - Italy's Under 20 soccer team beat
South Korea 2-1 Thursday to reach its first world final in that
age group Sunday against Uruguay, which beat Israel in the other
semi.
At the Diego Maradona Stadium at Città di La Plata in Argentina,
the Azzurrini went ahead through Cesare Cazadei in the 14th
minute only to be pegged back by a penalty from Seung-won Lee in
the 23rd.
Simone Pafundi got the winner in the 86th minute.
It was Cazadei's seventh goal in six matches in the tournament
Sunday is Italy's under 20 team's first world final having lost
in the semis in 1997 against Argentina and in 2013 against
France.
Coach Carmine Nunziata said "we can make history on Sunday".
