Juventus are set to ditch coach
Massimiliano Allegri with two Serie A games to go and replace
him with their under-19 coach Paolo Montero, rumours said
Thursday.
Allegri, 56, staged a berserk pitch-side protest against fouls
near the end of Wednesday's 1-0 Italian Cup Final win over
Atalanta at the Olimpico, and went on to threaten Tuttosport
Editor-in-Chief Guido Vaciago in the tunnel after the game.
Montero, 52, ia a former Uruguay defender who spent many
successful years as a Juve player before becoming a coach.
Livorno-born Allegri had been set to leave the 36-time Italian
champions and 15-time Italian Cup winners at the end of the
season, when his contract runs out.
In a statement to ANSA through his lawyer, Allegri denied
threatening Vaciago in the tunnel, saying it had only been "a
heated argument with insults on both sides".
