(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 27 - The New Year celebrations at Expo
Dubai 2020 have been billed as the longest in the world,
checking in at 13 hours to include the time zones of all the
participating countries.
The New Year's party will start at three in the afternoon local
time with the first celebrations in Japan, Australia and New
Zealand, and will end at four in the morning of the following
day with the last countries represented.
Dubai's subway network will be working non-stop and there will
be two firework shows, one at midnight and the other at three in
the morning, corresponding to Capodanno in Italy and the New
Year in much of Europe.
Stringent anti-COVID measures will be in force. Over 90% of the
local population is completely vaccinated. (ANSA).
