Minister Elena Bonetti on Monday opened Italian Solidarity Day
at the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
"Celebrating solidarity and promoting it is even more important
at this moment in history in which all of our communities have
to start over," Bonetti said in her speech.
"It is more important than ever to encourage the private sector
to commit its resources to social interventions.
"In order to move tin this direction, the investments of the
NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) dedicated to the
third sector have reached the level of 20 billion euros.
"This bears witness to the Italian government's attention to
strengthening these efforts.
"Here at Expo 2020 we recognise the urgency of collective
awareness of the need to be united to face future challenges.
"The road to the complete recovery of our economy is still long
but we must take action to safeguard the most vulnerable and
implement policies that can guarantee equal opportunities to
everyone.
"Solidarity has a central role in our history and identity and
we are pleased to celebrate the day of solidarity, a crucial
opportunity to inspire hope.
"National and international cooperation is the greatest act of
solidarity.
"Expo 2020 Dubai and the Italy Pavilion are a laboratory for the
promotion of solidarity and human rights". (ANSA).
