The Czech Republic assumed the EU Council presidency
Among top priorities are refugees and economic resilience
01 July, 16:48The Czech Republic will focus on five top priorities during the presidency: the refugee crisis and Ukraine's post-conflict reconstruction, energy security, the strategic resilience of the European economy, and the resilience of democratic institutions.
Of the 27 members of President von der Leyen's team, six politicians, including the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, and the Commission's vice president for policy Climate, Frans Timmermans, will be missing the inauguration ceremony for work reasons.
Czech President Milos Zeman will not be in Litomysl, but he will attend the Prague Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (PKF) gala concert to celebrate the beginning of the presidency. The show will take place in the presence of all government members at the Rudolfinum in Prague on July 8. (ANSA).
