Serbia:2.2 bn EU financial package for railway on Corridor X

28 February, 15:29The Corridor X railway project is a flagship investment in the Economic and Investment Plan, connecting the region with the EU via Croatia, Belgrade, and on to Nis, Skopje, and Greece. This project is expected to receive an EU grant of up to €600 million. So far, €265 million has been approved for the Belgrade-Nis fast railway, which will allow travelers to travel between the two cities at speeds of up to 200 km/h in around 100 minutes. The remainder of the package consists of an EIB loan of €1.1 billion and an EBRD loan of €550 million. (ANSA).
