(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 20 MAR - Friuli Venezia Giulia is one of
the European regions with the highest agricultural land rental
costs. This was noted by Eurostat, which published the 2021 land
rental prices of European regions. The saltiest hectare is in
the Dutch region of Flevoland: 1,721 euros. Friuli Venezia
Giulia follows with 1,714 euros per hectare but, the EU
statistics institute points out, the latest figures are for
2020. The lowest prices are in two Swedish locations, 25 euros
per hectare in Mellersta Norrland and Ovre Norrland. Permanent
grassland is the main agricultural land use in those regions,
and, Eurostat points out, renting permanent grassland has always
been cheaper than renting arable land in all twenty-seven EU
countries. (ANSA).
