Zone is growing for first time in more than a decade

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 8 - "Last step completed! Council
decision adopted - It is now formally confirmed that Croatia
joins the Schengen area as of 1 January 2023", the Permanent
Representation of Croatia to the European Union tweeted today.
"The Schengen area is growing for the first time in more than a decade, ministers approved Croatia's membership," the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union confirmed on Twitter. (ANSA).
