(ANSA) - UDINE, 31 AGO - 'Epicentrico' festival aims at generating a "cultural earthquake," creating connections and encounters, activating dialogue between all ages and social groups through theater, and breaking down generational and language barriers. The second edition of this new theater project, which was designed and organized by the Brat company, was presented today in Udine by the artistic directors, Agata Garbuio and Claudio Colombo, together with representatives of some of the municipalities of FVG involved: San Giorgio di Nogaro, Gonars, Porpetto.
The program features 21 performance events with 15 shows, eight of which are regional and two national premieres. "In this festival, which will involve as many as eight different territories between Italy and Slovenia and will last five months," Garbuio explained, "theater becomes the epicenter of a shock that provokes people, stimulating the need for cultural and social participation." Organized with the support of the FVG Region, the festival counts the Slovenian National Theater of Nova Goricaamong its partners and the new program also includes theater viewing courses for children and adults, as well as an intensive workshop on multisensory and inclusive theater and touring performances and shows for young people, adults, and families, selected from the 639 proposals received.
"Epicentrico," FVG Vice-President in charge of Culture, Mario Anzil, said in a statement, "does not represent only a theater festival, but can also be considered an authentic catalyst for cultural change; it also extends across the border, to Nova Gorica, thus taking a particular interest on the path to Go! 2025, Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025."
