Bosnia: Italian Cinema Days kick off

Ambassador, "important event to promote our culture"

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 14 - Absolute premieres for the Balkan country, and works by renowned authors and emerging artists, documentaries: this is the program of the 'Days of Italian Cinema,' an event dedicated to our country's movie industry that began on Monday with screenings in the cinemas of the main cities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, including Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, and Tuzla.

The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo presented the event, organized with Istituto Luce-Cinecittà.

"The Italian Cinema Days - explained the Italian Ambassador in Sarajevo, Marco Di Ruzza - are important to promote Italy's culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Historically, this area has paid great attention to cinema and boasts an audience with a natural propensity towards Italian culture and art." The line-up of the Days includes some world premieres for the Balkan country, including the film "Figli," written by Mattia Torre and directed by Giuseppe Bonito. "Volevo Nascondermi" by Giorgio Diritti, "Predatori" by Pietro Castellitto, "Non Odiare" by Mauro Mancini will also be screened. In addition, the festival will dedicate a space to the documentary production and the memory of Gigi Proietti. The Days will end with "Io Sono Babbo Natale," a comedy starring Proietti and Marco Giallini.
