(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 16 - The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, has revealed that China will invest 3 billion euros in Hungary's automotive industry in the coming years.

Following talks with Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao in Beijing, Minister Szijjártó stated that the projects will further strengthen Hungary's position as a top investment destination in Central Europe. Szijjártó met with the CEOs of five major Chinese corporations, four of which will invest in Hungary's electric vehicle industry, which supplies German automakers, the Hungarian government stated.

According to Szijjártó, Chinese companies consider Hungary to be a top destination for their investments in Central Europe, with Hungary having the highest volume of Chinese investments in the region by the end of 2022. (ANSA).
