A series of key issues affecting the agricultural sector are at the heart of the farmers' demands. They are requesting 300 euros per hectare in agricultural land subsidies, the elimination of excise duties and VAT on diesel fuel, 40,000 dinars (341 euros) per cow in agricultural product subsidies, and milk production subsidies.
The upcoming protests, which are set to begin today, are intended to bring attention to the plight of the agricultural community and rally support for their cause. To avoid causing inconvenience to the general public, Nedeljko Savic, representing the Stig Association from Pozarevac, revealed that the planned protests would initially take the form of a protest ride.
"We will stand on the roadsides, and then stronger measures will be implemented," Savic said, quoted by local media, inviting all farmers to join the protest movement.
