Italy hang gliding national team wins eleventh world title

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 21 - The Italian hang gliding national
team won its eleventh world title, the seventh in a row, at the
world championships in Krusevo, North Macedonia, according to
the Italian National Free Flight Association. Alessandro Ploner
of San Cassiano (Bolzano) was crowned world champion for the
sixth time, adding this new gold medal to the five previously
won. Silver medal for Marco Laurenzi from Veroli (Frosinone)
Third place for the Brazilian Alvaro Figueiredo Sandoli. Best
woman in the race was the Austrian Sasha Serebrennikova,
followed by the German Corinna Schwiegershausen and the Japanese
Chisato Nojiri. 22 nations took part in the hang gliding world
championships for a total of 141 pilots. (ANSA).
