Germany is ready to authorize Poland to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.

During the meeting of the foreign ministers of the European Union countries scheduled for tomorrow in Brussels, the foreign ministers of Lithuania (Gabrielius Landsbergis), Latvia (Edgars Rinkēvičs) and Estonia (Urmas Reinsalu) will reiterate the need to unblock the sending of Leopard tanks to Ukraine. On his Twitter page, Rinkēvičs said he will also stress the need to provide Ukraine with air defense systems. Reinsalu in turn announced that his attention will be equally directed to lowering the ceiling imposed on the cost of oil.

Baerbock reported that Germany "will not oppose" Poland's desire to send German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine if Warsaw asks for permission. "If the request is put to us, then we will not oppose it," the German minister told French television station Lci after a summit between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. "For the moment the question has not been asked" by Poland, which is required to make an official request to Berlin, Baerbock said. "We know how important these tanks are and that's why we are discussing it now with our partners. We need to make sure that people's lives are saved and the territory of Ukraine liberated," he added.
