Krah will be AfD's leading figure in European elections 2024
German far-right party chooses him with 65.7 percent vote

(ANSA) - ROME, 30 LUG - Saxony MEP Maximilian Krah has been
chosen as the European Union 2024 chief candidate of Alternative
für Deutschland (AfD, Germany's far-right party) with 65.7
percent support. His candidacy, writes Der Spiegel, was also
supported by the party's most extremist wing, which is headed by
Björn Höcke. Running against Krah, who has been a member of the
AfD's federal executive council since 2022, was Andreas Otti of
Berlin, also largely unknown within the party. He received 25.2
percent of the vote. 9.1 percent of delegates voted against both
candidates. (ANSA).
