Scholz, we back Romania's membership of Schengen area
First official visit to the country since he took up office

(ANSA) - BERLIN, APR 3 - Germany is supporting Romania to
become a permanent member of the Schengen area. German
Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this at a press conference in
Bucharest. Scholz is paying his first official visit to
Bucharest today since he took office.
At a press conference with President Klaus Iohannis, Scholz underlined that relations between Germany and Romania are 'good and close,' recalling, among other things, that the Federal Republic is a crucial country for investments in Romania. Scholz also praised the commitment of Bucharest to welcoming Ukrainian refugees and the solidarity shown toward Moldova. (ANSA).
