(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 21 - The Mezzogiorno became a protagonist
at Expo 2020 Dubai Monday with the Calabria regional day at the
Italian pavilion.
Minister for the South Mara Carfagna said "Calabria is a region
that has too long been regarded as marginal in Italy: today at
Expo Dubai we have had the opportunity to recount it as it
merits, starting with the value of its ports and the prospects
opening up for the future.
"Gioia Tauro is already today the biggest Italian port, the
sixth in the wider Mediterranean and the eighth in Europe. I'm
certain that with the imposing infrastructure plan envisaged in
the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and the new
impetus for the special economic zone (ZES) of Calabria this
performance can be further improved". (ANSA).
