(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 28 - Poland and Bayern centre-forward
Robert Lewandoski told young people never to give up on their
dreams as he received the Global Soccer Award for Best Striker
of the year in Dubai on Monday.
"Never give up, keep on dreaming," said the man who broke Gerd
Muller's goal-scoring records this year.
Lewandoski was feted by a crowd of countrymen but also other
visitors including Indians and Germans.
Euro 2020 winners Italy, coach Roberto Mancini, skipper and
defender Leonardo Bonucci and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on
Monday won the Global Soccer Awards for best team, coach,
defender and best goalie of 2021.
The Juventus libero, the ex-Milan PSG shotstopper and the others
got their prizes in the 13th edition of the awards in Dubai.
The Azzurri team prize was accepted by Italian Soccer federation
chief Gabriele Gravina, who said it was due to "the technical
quality of the players, humility, the ability of the coach and,
above all, the support of our fans, a mixture that turned the
team into one big family".
Former Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter, Man City, Galatasaray and Zenit
manager Mancini, from the Marche town of Jesi, said in accepting
his prize "we always believed in the possibility of winning the
