(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 8 - Italy is not against a deal to finally
revise the EU's rules on more equally distributing asylum
seekers and migrants but corrections are still needed to the
plan that Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson presented
almost three years ago, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi said
at a meeting of his EU counterparts Thursday.
Italy wants to take a position of "responsibility' towards the
possible migration agreement, which must however also be
demonstrated towards Italian and European citizens for a reform
that would otherwise be doomed to fail in reality," he said.
"I don't want to express a clearly contrary position but we have
to imagine on some points the possibility of further
negotiations". (ANSA).
