(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 25 - Italy's 100-metres Olympic champion
Marcell Jacobs announced Monday that American Rana Reider will
be his new coach, days after he parted company with Paolo
Camossi, whose wing he had been under for some time.
"I had said it would be a quick decision because there aren't
many months to go to Paris 2024 and I want to make the most of
them to get back to being in top physical shape," said the the
28-year-old, who also won gold in the men's sprint relay at the
Tokyo Olympics but has been dogged by a series of injury
problems since.
"I'll mainly train in Florida, in Jacksonville, with world class
athletes such as Andre De Grasse, Trayvon Bromell, Abdul Hakim
Sani-Brown and Marvin Bracy!
"I have a big goal: to get the Italian flag flying at the
highest level possible at the Paris Olympics...
"Sometimes it's necessary to change.
"I thank all those who have worked with me in recent years,
contributing to the achievement of exceptional results, in
particular coach Camossi...
"Now I'll give my all, as always, to get back to give the
Italian people the emotions they felt at Tokyo 2020". (ANSA).
