The "senseless" Ukraine war calls on
the consciences of all Christians, Pope Francis said Friday.
"This war, cruel and senseless like all wars, has a larger
dimension and threatens the whole world, and cannot fail to call
on the consciences of all Christians and every Church," he told
a plenary session of the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity.
"Even before the health crisis ended, the whole world found
itself facing a new tragic challenge, the war currently ongoing
in Ukraine.
"After the end of the Second World War there have been regional
wars, leading me to often speak of a piecemeal third world war,
scattered all over the world.
"But this war has a larger, different dimension".
