(ANSA) - L'AQUILA, SEP 25 - Security at L'Aquila's San
Salvatore hospital remained tight on Monday after Mafia boss
Matteo Messina Denaro died there overnight.
The authorities are making the arrangements for the post-mortem
procedures and the area where an autopsy will be performed on
his body by Chieti University experts has been sealed off.
A special route is being prepared to make it possible to move
Messina Denaro's body in secrecy and some parts of the hospital
have been cleared for this purpose.
The Cosa Nostra boss, who had colon cancer, had been in the
hospital since August 8 after being admitted due to a
deterioration in his condition.
Before that he had been held at L'Aquila's maximum-security
prison under the tough 41 bis since January 17, the day after
he was arrested at a Palermo clinic following 30 years on the
run. (ANSA).
