(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 9 - Tour operators said Friday the market
for organised tourism is officially out of the period marked by
the Covid 19 pandemic as bookings as of May 31 showed a 11%
increase in revenue with respect to the same date in 2019.
"This is the first summer that officially certifies that we are
out of the pandemic period," said Pier Ezhaya, president of
Astoi Confindustria Viaggi, which represents more than 90% of
Italian tour operators.
The upturn in revenue comes despite a 4% drop in numbers, Astoi
added. (ANSA).
