(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 9 - Istat said Friday that its seasonally
adjusted industrial production index fell for the fourth
consecutive month in April, dropping by 1.9% on March and by
7.2% on April 2022.
Industrial output fell across all man sectors, the statistics
agency said.
The 7.2% slump year-on-year represented the biggest since July
2020, when industrial production fell by 8.3% over July 2019 as
a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the sectoral level, year-on-year energy outputs fell by
12.6%, semi-finished products by 11%, consumer goods by 7.3%
and capital goods by 0.2%, Istat said. (ANSA).
