Lollobrigida on Thursday met with Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy
Shameen Ahsan to discuss how to tackle irregular migration flows
of Bangladeshi nationals to Italy.
In a post on Facebook, Lollobrigida said the meeting served to
"lay the groundwork for cooperation on dignified legal
immigration involving training processes and, at the same time,
firmly counter illegal immigration through repatriations".
As of April 30, 3,335 Bangladeshis had arrived in Italy by sea
according to official data, representing 7.9% of the total.
