(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 8 - An 11-year-old boy gave up a track win
to help a fallen rival in Lucca earlier this week, local sources
reported Thursday.
The boy was heading for victory in the 400m in the Rookies' Gala
at the 2nd City of Lucca International Meet when he noticed that
his closest challenger had tripped and fallen.
Instead of pressing on to win, he ran back and helped the other
boy get up, the applause of the crowd in the northern Tuscan
city. (ANSA).
