Italy's 'ecobonus' to change cars
from highly polluting vehicles to greener alternatives has
restarted and the industry ministry's platform to receive the
subsidy will be active from 10 am Wednesday, political sources
said Friday evening.
The government has earmarked 100 million euros for the
refinancing scheme, for new and used cars as well as commercial
vehicles.
There will also be a clampdown on electric scooters to stop them
being discarded anywhere, and equip them with stop and turning
lights.
The measure also envisages parking areas, a reduction in top
speeds and confiscation if modified.
These moves are contained in an amendment to a transport decree.
The decree does not extend the use of helmets which remain
limited to 14 years of age.
