(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 6 - The weather system Daniel has left
a path of destruction in the country, according to today's
edition of the newspaper Kathimerini, with thousands of people
fleeing their homes and vehicles in an attempt to save their
lives in the face of unprecedented conditions. The destruction
was concentrated in the port city of Volos on the Pagasetic Gulf
and its surrounding areas. A woman was discovered dead in the
Paltsi area, near Volos, in central Greece, after the storm
"Daniel" hit the country for the second day in a row. The
87-year-old woman was discovered in a flooded river, according
to the Kathimerini website. She is the second victim of bad
weather, following the death of a man in a torrent near Volos
yesterday. (ANSA).
