Almost half of people of African origin discriminated in EU

Even higher rates in Austria and Germany

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 25 - A survey by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) reveals that nearly half of people of African origin in the EU experience racism and discrimination in their daily lives, marking an increase from 36% in the previous survey conducted in 2016. The survey indicates that 45% of respondents reported being discriminated against based on their race in the five years preceding the study. The report highlights even higher rates in Austria and Germany, exceeding 70%, while in Italy, the percentage is 44%, showing a slight decrease from 49% in 2016. (ANSA).
