Elections in BiH "not democratic": ECHR
Applicant was unable to vote for candidates of choice in 2022

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 29 - The elections in Bosnia and
Herzegovina "are not democratic" because, under the current
political system, the main ethnic groups, i.e. the "constituent
peoples" - Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs - enjoy a privileged
position, according to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR)
in a ruling on an appeal presented by a Bosnian citizen-. The
applicant denounced the fact that due to a combination of
territorial and ethnic requirements applicable to legislative
and presidential elections he could not vote for candidates of
its choice in the 2022 elections. (ANSA).
