Imperialism has nothing to do with
God, Pope Francis said on Russia's invasion of Ukraine Thursday.
Receiving a delegation from the Ecumenical Orthodox Patriarchate
of Constantinople, Francis said "there is a need for conversion
to understand that armed conquests, expansions and imperialisms
have nothing to do with the Kingdom that Jesus announced, with
the Lord of Easter who in Gethsemane asked his disciples to
renounce violence, to put their swords back because all those
who live by the sword will die of the sword."
